UNKNOWN ALGAE-"CONCLUDED" THANKS

Unread post by parthapratim22 »

Dear Members,

In my HC tank I am facing this problem where I am not able to identify the algae.

Some points that I wanted to mention 1)I had BGA with starting of watering in my tank, when I make full the tank I treated with Erythromycin and BGA vanished but from last week I am seeing a transparent light grey color of algae on the 60% of my plant bed. It is like a think transparent cloth on my plants.
2) I thought it might be vanishing phase of BGA algae, but I treated BGA earlier in same method but never seen such stretched cure.

I am following these maintenance:
1)No dosing yet: need to start ASAP
2)Lighting 11pm to 7pm
3)Glut dosing
4)WC: did 70% after the Erythromycin treatment after a week later (yesterday) did again 30% WC.
5)3-4 days back added AC and Ceramic ring in the HOB
6)Filtration: HOB 140l/h after considering media(actual280l/h)
7)A byou mini power head working 24 hours from the beginning.

I want these algae to go within couple of days as I have to start dosing my plants as I want to get a healthy plant bed mid of March, but I am helpless    since last week, due to this algae, hope you can help me out.

I know to explain a unknown algae I should give a PICTURE but sorry as I dont have any camera to take a close shot of algae.

is it like a fine powder that seems to be resting on everything?
Just cos it happened to you is no means for you to claim that it will happen to me. Exceptions aren't the rule.

Please chek the photo. The algae is not on glass wall. It moves freely in aquarium and can be anchor itself by anything in the aquarium. It looks like as a small piece of cloth.

Unfortunately, I have not faced this type of algae ever in my tanks. This photograph is from a friends tank. I am searching an file in my hard disk that have the remedy for this type of algae. After reading, I will post the remedy.
