rocks for aqua

Unread post by shergill00 »

Went for rock collection trip along with deepesh and collected these.

3 rocks failed acid test. So can't keep them in planted tank.

Its probably because we are living on the bottom of a sea. Many of the rocks are sedimentary and the cement binding the grains of sand/rock is often carbonate.

Hope you got to keep some of the better rocks especially that big one.

There are lots more so we could plan later trips once the fish settle down.

Sadly yes the better looking ones failed. Hope find something interesting next time. Deepesh is already up for it, will see when to go now. Deepesh, have you started the curing of drift wood you got from there.

It's easy enough in Chandigarh for we are just at the bottom of a huge pile of rocks called the Himalayas. :D Problem is that many of the rocks are sedimentary and have lots of carbonates since these mountains were once upon a time a seabed.

I am always overawed when I think of that!
