Well I guess it's time to go little more serious so I'll be looking for some lava rocks. Where can I get them here in Gurgaon? While I wouldn't want to spend for rocks, I'd still be interested in knowing if there are any websites that sell them (just to check the variety and the prices).

Gurgaon does not have lava rocks. These are found in the Deccan plateau. I dont know if any websites have pictures, Google and check whatever sites show up.

You can speak to Partha, (green wave) he's got some nice lava rocks.

Try some other types of rocks. They are very expensive.

you can always go for laterite stones then. i collect from behind my nose nowadays.

Latarite rocks are also not available in Delhi/NCR.

good rocks are either expensive or they are difficult to find. Either you work hard to find them and bring them home or you spend a lot of money. Or, you use not so good rocks that comes free and easily.

Alternatively, buy yourself a hammer and chisel or better a rock cutter and carve unique looking rocks
some people do that, I have seen it somewhere on the net, can't remember where
