Light timer help

Hi friends
I have 2 timers one 4 pin frontier and another 5 pin l&t
Am not able to set up any of them
Please guide and help

for a 4 pin frontier you just have to connect the input (the one with AC symbol) to the main line and you get the output from the output pair.

the connection of 5 pin timer is a bit complicated. you will need to have a common output from one of the input terminals (say pin 1)the other input terminal (pin2) feeds pin 3 (i.e short 2 and 3). pin 3,4,5 is a part of Single pole changeover(SPCO) or single pole double throw (SPDT) switch i.e if current is applied on 3 you will either get the output at pin 4 (N0, i.e normally off/open) or pin 5(N1). Based on this example you'll get the output from terminal 1 and 4 or 5.

Finally figured that frontier makes many different models of 4 pin timers.
Though the basic principle of wiring is the same but there are some with batteries and others without.
Some models also hv override.
