Hi Bappa,
Since i came late to your place and with so much to take in a little time i don't remember which tank as you have so many...
Which cube is this? What size is it?
I was just estimating why u need the PLL along with such a high powered LED?
Is it something because of the spread of light or something else..?
I plan on lighting an 18inch cube hence the query !

This is the cube with rockscape and Oryzias Woworaes. LED is more like a spot. I wanted deliberately high light for two things, LED t the back for rotalas to remain red and PLL in the front to grow HC carpet. But, I guess LED alone will be enough. The LED light is more harsh (bit yellowish) than the soft white pll output.

is bhagirath place open on saturaday and sunday?
was in bhagirath today, but unfortunately i was not able to find T5 HO.
Asked around, but nobody had T5 80W (5ft) or T5 54W (4ft).
so, if you guys came along these, please tell me.

i bought ready made LED 10W (450Rs) and 20W (850Rs) for testing.
but after 1 hour testing, my impression is, that 11W PLS is brighter than 10W LED and 2x11W PLS brighter than 20W LED.

Thanks a lot for testing and letting us know. Do you have any pics of the same to show brightness?

In the given calculations for Lumen, we are considering Length X Width X desired Lumen / Sq. Inch. How about the depthof the tank as well as the level at which lights are installed? Is it not important?

I think these are standard 20 inch height tank calculations

As its same LXB at surface and substrate
.
Later, I will also include other parameters.
You have to calculate only the surface area if tank height from substrate level is up to 20inch.
