Hey guys I wanted to know something.
1. what is the difference between T5HO and T5HE.
2. Which is better? T5HO or T5HE?
3. Do T5HO come in 2 feet? if yes, than maximum watts in 2 feet?
4. If ill buy T5HO then how many watts for my tank and if ill buy then how many watts for my tank?

Current setup: Tank dimension is 24x12x18 LBH, 2x36w pll 6500k. Diy co2. Ei dosing and Seachem flourish comprehensive and excel. Substrate is just laterite.

Q1. Why do you want to change lights, Is it just for fab of having a T5 setup?
Q2. Do you have access to buying T5HO / T5HE in your place? or you ll spend months to just find out.

The difference is in the name itself "O"-"E"
"O" gives more output per tube
"E" gives more output for watt

T5HE can give a bill lesser by may be 20-25 bucks ala month- if that's what you feel is better.
HO will be a bit more intense per tube.
If you get a chance you can get 3xT5HOx24W. Having said that if you don't have quality reflectors you are pouring money into drainage.

Q3. Why dint you put PLL in comparison?- its as good as T5HO

Tip- of course we have people with more expertise than us both on the forum. But its more enlightening to do a google search of terms, and may be then you can ask some interestingly-specific questions for our experts

1. I am not happy with the performance of pll so thinking to switch to t5.
2. A hardware store guy got philips 14w t5he 2 feet and t5 28w.
I am currently using aluminum foil (which we use in tiffins and all) as a reflector, is that worth?
3. As i mentioned, i am not that happy with the performance of pll.
I did google a lot but could not find satisfied answer so posted here.

By Using white paint instead you can get better results.

PLL in reality is a bent T5HO, so now you can decide.
28W T5 you saw is a 4ft, so how will you fit in?
2 month old 2 pllx36W is pleanty to grow most of plants. You must check issue in some other thing of your tank which is limiting a satisfying growth.

Oh i never thought pll and t5ho are same. Why people give more importance to t5ho then?
No, 28w t5 was 2 feet.

My bad, that 28w was 4 feeter, my friend gave me wrong information.
so now i am going for 3x24w t5ho.. I will paint the hood with white color as a reflector.
