As of I am aware of, the minimum period of a part of photoperiod should not be less than 4 hrs, because, plants can have benefits by this length of time. not less than that. I have been splitting total photoperiod in two segments and a gap of two hours in between.
12pm-4pm - Photoperiod
4pm-6pm - Blackout
6pm-10pm - photoperiod
Though I am concerned about the second half - evening time. As I am going against the natural photoperiod. Should I constrain my timing till evening only?
Suggest.

Split photoperiod helps in reducing algae growth.

Split photo period is not good for plants. They can't copup with double push.
