E-bay is reliable source for shopping.

Arjun,
Firstly , how small is small ? A very small tank can essentially go the low-tech route , no need for ferts. Remember that aquatic plants extract their nutrients from the water. For a small tank, if you do regular water changes , you will infuse nutrients at regular intervals , thus almost removing the need for adding ferts. There are a lot of experts on this forum with low tech setups which look beautiful. You can ask them for their opinion also.
Ferts are of two types - macro and micro/trace. For a small tank, macros should suffice. If you are in a graduate hostel with access to a Chemistry lab, pick up some potassium sulphate. Should be more than enough. If you are in a PG hostel , catch any of the Delhi forum members in any of our meets - I am sure some of us can spare some macros for your setup.
However , you must first tell us how small is small....

@apuda2010:
Yeah I'm going for a small tank because keeping pets is not allowed and I'll be hiding it. Actually I haven't decided a tank size yet. My best guess will be 12"X12"X12" or 24"X12"X12".
I read that Macros will be taken care by Fish and water. But Some plants need higher K and Fe levels. Maybe a micro-nutrient mix will look after deficiencies
@somraj:
Thanks. i'll checked with that site but the shipping is really costly. I'll wait till I find some more guys then we can share the shipping

Re: Need advice for purchasing ferts online
Arjun....for a tank that size , I would recommend that you set it up first with plants of your choice. If you keep plants only , there's no need to hide it also !! No fish = no pets.
Give the plants some time to settle in. Put the tank away from direct sunlight , but do ensure proper lighting.
There is absolutely no need to start a tank on an external nutrient regime from day one.
