Water must have high hardness, low co2, poor lighting, pH imbalance etc. Depends on the status of the tank, do give some more details.

Cuba grows very well in Latarite. I have also grown in DIY substrate based aquarium.

I've got a tank with following specifications
2 feet length, 2 feet breath, 1 feet width

Please suggest the quantities I gotta make.

Is Laterite the same clay that potters use to make clay pots?

laterite is already explained in this thread itself.

just an experiment done to check the significance of big pieces of 1 inch cube of fire wood ash (like coal)
i seen that root wrapped on it and become a air pocket beneath the soil and some bacterias may get dwelling place there
im now testing with coconut shell burned pieces in emerged setup
waiting for result

Can I use earthworm soil in my substrate or gardening soil.

Yes you can.

But mix vermicompost 4hand full with normal garden soil. Dont go for 100% vermicompost(earthworm soil)
