Re: Please suggest appropriate substrate!!
Few things which I noticed have scope to work on:
1) About hood setting: because that hood will accumulate all heat (produce by lights) inside the tank
2) Fan setting: fan will work as exhaust inside the hood, but I feel you need to throw air on water surface for better effectiveness.
3) Also as we have discussed you may work on defused sunlight.
4) Last but not the least lighting for your foreground light may not enough, try to get a LED for FG plants. Expert suggestion may help.
As Aamir and Rajivji also visited your place they can help you out.

No fertz now.
Follow this!!! Very important for such high grade substrate!!!Bhushan wrote:I would recommend you to change 20% of water every day for the first 15-20 days in a tank using new Amazonia. This will help you overcome a lot of initial problems with a new tank.

Re: Please suggest appropriate substrate!!
Your observatiins are valid partha Hood will surely generate lot of heat,i wil surely go for open type .If hood is a must then think of chillers and keep tank indoor otherwise extra work for chillers.
If planning for indoor make it open type with fans
If planning for Hc u need LED flood lamp type with more than75watts like that atleast 3 nos to cover Fg area, orelse metal halide is there then hang it ....that will do
Another economical way to grow Fg in such case was to increase the height of substrate with rocks.
