I m not changing filter, just want to add up additional filter.
Canister everyone suggest is best option as water changes can be little prolonged.
My fishes are not big though so i feel should i add media to my top filter which is 1600 lph & maybe add up internal filter -Asian make i saw it had lots of media in it,3-4 chambers.
Or any good reliable brand if u can suggest.
I would appreciate best combination of filter for my tank.

I bought SunSun Canister Filter HW 302. It is quite and functioning well till now. This is the cheapest of all canister filters, I guess. Have plenty of space for the filtering materials. However go for Eheim or any other mentioned above if brand name matters to you.

Personally have been using Eheim and have not seen a better product than this in the Indian market.
EHIEM is no doubt the best, but if you are little tight on budget you can give Aquaone a try i have been using one for about last 4 years without any trouble. sicci can also be a good option, though i have not used one but the quality of the material used is top class.

Aquone 1200 i m getting for 4600/- with 3 months warranty...& Ehiem 2217 for 8800/- with one year warranty...Its approx. double difference with i have no experience of canister as of now....
So,budget is not an issue but value for money should be there...i hv been told by LFS that aquaone is also good brand with spares available... although Ehiem 2217 is more powerful compared to lph...
Sicci no idea where we can get...

If you don't have any problem of budget, go for Ehiem 2217.

Well budget is not big deal but if Ehiem is double good than aquaone then its worth!
Although one LFS guy told he was using Aquaone for last 10 years .
More experiences with canister brands!
Also, can i increase fishes with adding canister filter.
Also , suggest what else can i add in top filter with foam in media .
Thanks & Regards,

So,Finally purchased Ehiem 2217 Canister Filter as suggested by most of friends & experienced ppl....Hope i will get best results from it & my Fishes will be happier in better water quality.
Now, can u suggest that the activated carbon pad should be there always or should be removed as manual says to remove in 3 days...
Kindly advice what all can be done to get best results.....
Also, advice should i add more media to Top filter which only has foam in it...
Thanks & Regards,

Dear all,
Three suggestions i need for my tank:
1. Small dust & very fine tiny thread like things on my rocks & gravels. Is it waste or what.
2. Is the outflow from canister on higher side.
3. Top filter with 4 chambers which has foam in it, can i put more media in these chambers.
Hope for your best advices, as over filtering never bad ;-)
