Correct Filteration
i have a Minjhang chinese tank with top filter , its a freshwater tank (4 ft - 1210x450x620mm approx. .... Well i have south american chichlids like oscars-2, texas-2,parrot-3 , silver dollar-4 nos. all medium size...
As oscars are messy...so i need suggestions on improving my tank filteration...
Plz suggest as its a non-planted tank...
Also, i have observed rock in my tank has turned quite dark little black as i added it as reddish colour..is it some sort of reaction to conditioner etc..
Also, i could observe thread like very tiny things on small stones & on glass in small numbers....no idea what is it...
Advice friendz...
Regards,
Rahul Aggarwal

Dark color on rock is algae. It is best to use a canister filter.

Rahul Ji, your tank is already over populated so don.'t add more fishes in the tank.rahul2kcuteguy wrote:Thanks for your suggestion scorpio! Ehiem is the best option for long term. You can also buy another brands such as fluval, dolphin etc. Wait the response of others.

Eheim and Fluval are the best ...
Personally have been using Eheim and have not seen a better product than this in the Indian market.

Re: Correct Filteration
Its not planted tank, so why don't you use top filter? It gives much better bio filteration as media is in contact with air.
Is there any specific reason you want new filter? As your dark stone thread thing are no symptoms that ask a filter change.
