They are too small to predate
They are more like prey now
0.75" - 1.5" is the current range of sizes

Pics of fish not for another two weeks as my brother is getting married this weekend

If you come to my place and look aty tanks you will see that every tank of.mine is setup for the fish

I read a lot about the fish that is to come or I bought on an impulse, everything about the tank will be for the comfort of the fish.

The reason as to why I take so much interest in their well being is because unless a fish interests me I don't buy it, and when I buy one I totally dedicate myself to see it thrive

I was mesmerized by the calvus because of their truly unique shape, the tall face which looks regal with that high dorsal and the black night color which is star studded with Pearls

And their defense mechanism which is quite like a porcupine
They bend their bodies against the aggressor so that the scales stick out like blades when the agressor bites his mouth gets slashed against the scales

My favourite cichlid from tanganyika. If at all I go for a Tanganyikan setup, I'll dedicate it to a group of calvus.

very true indeed...

You have opted for black calvus, I wonder how they'll stand up against a dark substrate and background. I'll be keen to see that.
BTW Whats the tank size, sorry if I missed that somewhere in the thread.
