As Abhi has already suggested, 26 is good for most of the fish and plants.

The implications are self-evident, Rahul. If the temps are too far out of the range of the plants and fish collectively, both will decline in health. This decline will be different for each, will happen at a different speed, and have different reversibility too.

No aquarium can comprise of fish and plants that have exact same temperature needs, because not only are optimal temperatures slightly different for each species (as is everything else, appearance, age, niche in nature, response to various natural parameters etc.), so is the degree of adaptability of each. For instance, Goldfish are masterpieces of adaptation to temperatures. Originally a coldwater fish, they adapted to temperate regions and then finally to tropical ones. Can you imagine a fish being happy with water frozen solid on top and water so warm, even tropical fish gasp for air at the surface. Koi Carp are not so adaptable, so they cannot compete with goldfish everywhere. But if u want to keep them together, you sure can.

So there are is no one size-fits all solution to the issue. When you buy a fish, find the species name, google it. See websites of distinction like www.seriouslyfish.com and see the temperatures advised. The see the average temps of the other fishes... and find a golden mean. Or you could just take the advice of members here and stick to the temp range they have found of practical use. Why get so caught up on one parameter, there are dozens of them like water quality, volume of water, décor, cover, plants... lighting, water change schedules, rocks needed or not... work all of them out and your fish will be fine.

Hi All,
Well it looks to be nearly End of Winters.
Just want to share that i kept my aquarium temp at 26 Deg these winters (My first winters in hobby) & all my fishes look healthy till now letsparty
Thanks Sushant you adviced same & everyone else who guided me up. :thnk

Only thing i have noticed is that my fishes has little black colour on fins edge.

Anyways, during water changes one has to be little extra careful as Temperature difference can really give shock to fishes.

Thanks & Regards,
Rahul Aggarwal
