Re: My 2 Tanganyikan slices
Aadesh- Such beautiful fish you have. What is your WC regime? I was instructed not to change too much of their water. I do 20-25% every week. The German guy who sent me the fish tole me to do just 5%. I just could not digest his logic and hence settled on 25%
What is your view on this issue?
Also, 5 of my sumbu shells have claimed their shells but one is still remaining and of course, gets all the punches and kicks. Is there any way to help him mark his shell? Would adding more shells help?
But the good thing is, he comes first when I start feeding and eats a lot.
Darn tangs grow SLOW...
Sorry for hijacking your thread. Hope you didn't mind

For WC - it depends on following things
1. Number of inhabitants
2. Kind of filtration
3. Tank volume
For my 1.2m (4ft) tank with 6 foai/6 calves/6 trophs/2 caudopunctatus - I'm doing min 30% (sometimes reach 40%) WC on weekly basic. And I'm using Eheim 2228 professional. The filter gets cleaning once in 2/3 months.
About the slow growth for tangs, it is not applicable for all Tangs. Fronts/Calvus/Comps are one of those who are slow growers. I've seen lelupi/caudos/ocellatus growing fast as compared to these. However, I agree they can't beat their cousins from Malawi.
