the juvenile atractosteus spatula
the reason for me giving the name as is in latin, is because all the gar family is put in a single name and that is the gator gar, which is not right
as the lepisosteus and the atractosteus are two different families altogether, and require very different sized aquaria nd have quite different attitudes towards tankmates
anyways this is the largest among all and is the one who think any thing that moves in the tank is food
i got this fish when it was hardly 3.5"
the current size is 9" and in just 2 months, these have the fastest growth rate may be lesser than some of the monster cats.
