What is the tank size? What was changed recently? is dark in color with stress bars? What is the tank temprature? Is the fish alone? What's the filtration? When was the last w/c and filter cleaning?

Which one Ra or Anubis?

Post a picture of the affected fish please.

i think you are missing out sumthing or are not correctly describing the living conditions of the fish

if the there is a sudden loss of the size of head it usually means internal parasites which cause hole in the head or the corrosion of intestines

if thats the case then
the reasons could be

bad water quality, due to the substrate not been cleaned for a long time, or the filter not been cleaned for a long time and the bioload handling capability of the tank and filter has reduced

the best way to go about this would be to do large water changes, but see to that there are no major temperature mismatches, and that can be done by doing water changes mid day, during afternoons
and do water changes once in 4 days or so.

the tank looks to be 30 gallons
which is quite small if the fish is larger than 5-6"

clean the filter and do gravel vacuum

Puneeth,

Are you confident of doin a Epson Salt bath for your fish? As far as i know, if he isnt accepting food, he is less likely to accept medicated food as well which leads me to believe your last resort is to give him an Epson Salt Bath.

What i do is this:
  • Remove enough water from the tank and put it into a bucket so that the fish can swim comfortably. I am careful to measure the quantity i am removing cos this is important for the next step.
For every gallon of water, i add 1 tbl spoon of Epson Salt (Magnesium Sulphate). 1 Gallon of water: 3.84 liters. To keep it simple, use 1 tbl spoon of Epson salt for every 4 liters of water.
Put the fish into this solution for a period of 30 mins or till he shows signs of being stressed.
Top up the tank with fresh water and drop the fish back in.
Repeat daily till you see his poop coming back to normal.
Just cos it happened to you is no means for you to claim that it will happen to me. Exceptions aren't the rule.
