Datnioides Polotas
these are the indian tigers
are supposed to be common datnioides, also known as the american tiger(i seriously don't know why)
really filled with character, if they are accustomed to your presence, but if u see them once in a while like i do, then they are quite shy and always in hiding

when i got them from a good friend of mine, they were still 8-12mm, got ten of them, and it has been over an year now and they still seem to be less than 5", but closer to 4"+ and only 6 of them survived, as some of the runts were eaten off by the ones which grew faster than the rest

these are the datnioides, which i have never had issues to get onto regular foods, they eat everything thrown into the tank, pellets, dried shrimp, earthworms.

they need there hiding space, in the wild these are usually spawned in freshwater, where some move to the lower end brackish and some stay in fresh, hence easier to keep in freshwater.

those big eyes that they have are always the first thing u notice with these fish

these fish when kept in brighter substrates show better gold colors than when kept in dark substrates.

are quite aggressive against each other but u can manage that if u have a niice big tank.

the last pic is the most recent one, where the fish is i think close to 4.5"

Enjoy Fishkeeping

Nice fishes. If I am not wrong these are from brackish water areas. Please also mention following:
Water parameters
Substrate.

water parameters??
when u say tank requirements, are you referring the tank size??
hmmm a 4'x2'x2' would be good for at least 6 of them for a life time
