yes, different colour varieties of the same species can be rare.

But a classification of a species of fish cannot be based on colour alone.

As we all know, colour variants can appear in cultivation or in wild that look quite different. The Electric Blue Jack Dempsey also proved to be just a colour form of the common species, not a separate one. There are are a number of such cases.

I am sure this variant has better sale potential than the Andrao because it is far better looking to my eyes. :clp

But Romi, this is not from andrao or its complex. This is a variant of stewartii. You can double check with Andrew Rao.

The reason I referred to Google in general in my first post and this amazing website http://www.seriouslyfish.com is that I have, over the years, found good reason to have faith in online resources, that website is cutting edge, and I have seen too many to remember. The good websites are easy to tell apart from poorly researched ones for me.

But you speak with such aplomb, let us see what Andrew Da says.
