if you are planning to breed and that u successfully do why don't you breed best quality only ?

do you hatch your own bbs ?
All these discus with me are locally born .
I bought them and raring for my hand own experience.
they was only 2 inch+ size when they arrived
playing with high end without basic experience may be harm my pocket
More over hobbyist on discus are only few here to get close consultancy.
Iam using BBS hatched here itself for feeding my fry fishes ( OSI brand )

From my experience discus is not a child play ........ specially, feeding and water quality management

have to go miles ahead
anticipating help from all of you,

Nice growth of fry.

Hikari discus bio gold is best food.

Go ahead.

Hi mates,

have you ever thought that why too many people not coming to DISCUS hobby ?

what i have noticed

1. initial investment
discus are now costly in LFS
Apart from what we read from others tank size , Filtration etc ..

2 Scarcity in market
they are not available any time in local shops

3 care
water quality management and feeding
consume money and pocket takeca

anything more ..
share here

thanks advanced

Its not real scarce in Bangalore. Any LFS can get it for you.

Few of the factors which I feel that stops people to keep discus are:
1. Many learned newbies start with small tanks, in which of course discus can't be kept.

2. Over here priority these days are given to planted tanks, which need cool water and will be hard to keep a discus.

3. Too many have discus. Some people choose angels because you can keep them in planted or biotopes.
