Need help to make a Spraybar.
I am planning to setup a paludarium with some carnivorous plants. For this I need a spraybar.
The spraybar should trigger water spray after an interval of one hour with moving capability at 90 degree angle. Although the moving part is not mandatory.
If this type of equipment is available somewhere in market, let me know. I have checked on google but not found this type of device.
DIY Experts, please help me.

Re: Need help to make a Spraybar.
Back in my frog days for maintaining humidity, i had an automatic rain system, which simulated rain 2-3 times (1 minute each) a day. we used pneumatic components for that:
1. pressure tubes, connectors like this:

2. Nozzle was made from diesel engine fuel nozzle
http://www.regenwaldfroesche.de/shop/wp ... 4-Kopf.JPG
or plastic ones:
http://www.terrarientechnik.de/E-N-T-Ra ... :2040.html
3. Pump was taken from espresso machines. you need a pump with high pressure (>2 bar), but low flow rate
for example
http://www.google.de/imgres?q=terrarium ... ,s:0,i:192
thats somehow a hightech setup, but with more than 20 tanks the only way to maintain humidity.
pressure connectors+tubes are available in chawri bazaar and nehru place.
one time i also saw the nozzles somewhere.
am sure the pumps are also available, but did not ask so far.
even if it rains only for 1 minute each nozzle sprays approx 300ml per minute...so you need to make a drainage, otherwise your tank will be flooded.
one more thing: i have kept pitcher plants and venus flytraps before...they like it humid, but not wet. wet roots will decay.
and they like cold temperatures, not more than 24C...so you will need an aircon

Re: Need help to make a Spraybar.
You can actually use the normal hand sprayers? You can use some solenoid to trigger its handle every 1hr.
Or using what Juainco should do, you might need compressor then.
why not use regular vapourizer? Instead of mist you get vapour.

vapour needs to be converted to mist which has to condense on the leaves for it to helpsaikumar wrote:You can actually use the normal hand sprayers? You can use some solenoid to trigger its handle every 1hr.

Rajiv
It is a relatively simple matter to create humidity in a closed aquarium. just use an airstone in an dish of water, the water will vaporise fast. I agree with juanico, the insectivorous plants dont need to be sprayed, they need moisture in the air. I do not think venus fly trap can be kept in soil that does not drain well either. They are excellent terrarium plants, that reveals a lot about their habitat.
