Need a way to mount CPU fans on a rimless aquarium

Unread post by vasishta.sushant »

As the heading says, I need a way to mount the fans on my rimless tank.

Right now I have them placed in a very fragile way, with one edge of the fan over the tank glass and other on top my finnex fixture. This essentially constrains my led fixture placement since I can't move the led fixture in the middle of the tank, where ideally it should be.

Any brethren did a diy before? Pics would strongly help.

How is it currently mounted, in a picture please.

Nearly everyone goes for a rimless these days, so we should help.

Here is how the fans are mounted currently. Note that the light fixture is at about 30% of the depth of the tank.

I made a hanger to hold fans over tank. Will display photograph in evening.

One option is to take an acralic sheet get hole drilled out to fix your fans and follow similar design principle as your led light to put it over tank.

I've made fan holder for myself with acralic sheet but I don't have side stand as I don't need them

I am not sure where to get the acrylic sheet from and how to bend them. While I am sure I can do that but I need information around the resources.

You can get glue & acrylic sheet from Paharganj, there are people who make boxes or picture frame, etc. May be they can help you with your custom requirement.

See following video,

How to glue

How to bend

Another option:
Double sided flexi clamp

But I don't where to get this locally..
or may be you can use flexi car mobile holder?
Thanks & Regards

You can get Acrylic sheets from Pahar Ganj, opposite Shila Cinema hall.

Rajeev ji, show some pics of your arrangement please.

My shrimp tank isnt in the AC room and there is no fan on top of it. The water is around 30 degree in that tank. Although it's cycling right now, I am worried for the future. Really need to get some cooling arrangement in place.
