150 gallon reef tank in the making

Unread post by aquascapist »

Background: Currently have been maintaining a 90 gallon mixed reef tank. i always felt the disappointment of keeping some of the larger and beautiful marine species because of lack of space. Finally saved enough to make the jump to new 150 gallon tank 666 . Man is this hobby expensive! I'm building everything from scratch
Specs:
Main Tank: 60" x 24" x 24" (lxwxh)
Sump: 48" x 18" x 15" (lxwxh)
Skimmer: Reef Octopus NWB 150 ( will have to upgrade this soon)
Live rocks from existing tank for filtration + Rowaphos in a media reactor for phosphate control.
Attaching pics, sorry for the crappy quality.

Since I'll have to transfer all of my livestock from the existing tank, will detail out all the problems i may or may not face during this. Ultimately, I would not want to lose any of the precious fishy friends in the process. Ive still not thought of the final aquascape but I would prefer a minimalist scape this time, i.e, more open spaces. Will update as and when possible. Thats all for know. Cheers!
Warm Regards,
Aditya

Any dead fish can flow down the river but it takes a live one to swim back up stream.

thanks for the encouragement Sai! There are hobbyists with some wonderful setup on the marine side in India. They just don't post enough about it.
