Dear Neil,
Some Clarifications please!
How does this air tube work for removing sediments. It should obviosly be in suction mode. Is there any special equipment or attachments which achieve this. I did see this in a shop once. However would be grateful for a clarification. How do I prevent the fry from getting also sucked out by mistake?
Thanx for the feeding details. Any aeration reqd?
Regards thnk :?:

@ jackdanio,

if u use a 1 inch pipe to siphon water from a fry tank what will be result ?

so i suggest air tube to do it

special equipment = ready made ? personally me don't care
cos just removing sediments by siphoning is a pleasure not a herculean task 4 me im enjoying the moments ...

ariation +filtration = what mentioned as sponge filter

Dear Neil,
Thanks. I kind of figured out and am siphoning it out. Of course at times an odd fry gets sucked out which I return. I now have approx 100+ frys! Hope the survival rate is high. Seem to be doing fine as of now. Thanks for the inputs.

Indian almond leaves and Betta fish

FRIENDS,
here in this thread let me open a new talk
Indian almond leaves and Betta fish:

Indian almond leaves (IAL) have traditionally been used by Betta breeders to create a feeling of natural Betta habitat in captivity and it is a health stimulant so make their fish stronger, healthier and more reproductive(.=rejuvenatory)
same time it acts like anti bio
Indian almond leaves are also believed to help fighting fish get in prime shape before a battle and heal their wounds afterwards. Using the leaf itself has some added benefits for fry-The leaf help provide cover, help create microorganisms for fry to eat, have antibacterial/fungal properties to name a few.
Here I am trying to make its extract
so that it can be kept in bottles
there are MANY WAYS TO MAKE THE EXTRACT

share what u know or details of your experience ..... WAITING for posts from your side

I shall update soon

regards,
NEIL

Preparations:
got this idea from internet itself :&
tested
1. Collect Indian Almond Leaves.

2. Wash the leaves over running water with a stiff brush if they are not already washed.
3. Get a large pot (preferably clay pot,)

4. Put about 50 (or more) leaves for each gallon of water the pot can contain.

5. Fill with clean water (chlorine and chloramine removed)

6. Weigh the leaves down with a chemically inert stone (e.g. granite).

7. Let the leaves soak in the pot for a day.

8. Boil the pot for 15-20 minutes.

9. Leave it to cool and soak for another day.

10. Boil one more time for 10-15 minutes.

11. Leave to cool. The water in the pot should be as black as thick coffee and very fragrant.

12. Filter the black water extract through a coffee paper filter (to trap detritus or any other insoluble matter).

NOW YOU CAN STORE IN DOOR OF REFRIGERATOR coolbig

try this method and say your experience .
