excellent suggestion ishaan.

small mirrors are very useful for giving a male betta flaring exercises!

to keep males in good form, use a mirror daily and for 5 minutes only. this convinces the male that there is another male, and that he goes away when he puffs up! Naturally, it is a goooooooooood feeling for the betta.

The Betta that I have was housed with Bolivan Rams and Ramirezi in my 125gallon, he (the betta) used to think that the colourful rams are other males and used to regularly flare at them and chase them away. I eventually had to remove him so as to avoid any conforntation as the Bolivans were getting tired of being chased away and used to sometime revert back at him.

The Betta has got a lot of character, no two bettas will behave the same.... as have observed over the years. Truely a faciniating fish to keep...........:)

So Syed how many fries have survived.....??

If want your male betta active and with good colours, keep mirror atleast 5 minutes daily in front of aquarium.

so far i have about 10 surviving, Interesting thing happened, The endler fry which i had got from bappa place, i had put the smallest 1 of them with the fries so that it can eat MC. Then i notice that my frys count had come down, want able to figure it out. Then one day i saw with my own eye that guppy fry was chasing and eating betta frys :(, removed the guppy fry immediately.

But i guss damage of abt 50% was done already.

Its a new learning every few days. So now in another 15 day i am gone breed them again, this time i think i more prepared. :D
