In past I had around 75 species of plants but now reduced and keeping only some of the favorite plants.

the list can be long but my tanks are largely dominated by HM,marshilea, and sagitteria sabulata. the quantity of all the other plants mentioned above can easily be counted on fingers :roll

I have had a lot of plants in hte last several years, but due to water from my boring, now stick mostly to crypts. need to work out lighting since 6 months now, and a C02 system is also on the anvil. As of now i have a handful of crypts, which are my favourite group, and suit just about any tank/water/lighting and that is why i am faithful to them.

1. used to have 5 types of anubias at one time, only one now, Anubias lancelota.
2. Crypt willissi
2. Crypt nevilli (These two are known by this name, but this is botanically incorrect, however still using it for keeping thigs short, )
3. Crypt wendtii Green Gecko (said plant with me for 3 years now)
4. Crypt wendii Tropica (3 yrs)
5. Crypt wendtii Green (oldest one)
6. Crypt ponteridifolia (2.5 years)
7. Crypt parva (4 years)
8. Crypt wendtii variety one (not able to pin it down yet)
9. Crypt undulata (2.5 years)
10. Crypt walkeri (1.5 years)
11. Crypt wendtii Red (really cool plant)
12. Crypt beckettii (not sure thouggh, could be yet another form of wendtii)

13. Monosolenium tenerum
14. Subwassertang
15. Echinodorus Magdalensis
16. Echindorus Tropica
17. java moss
18. stringy moss
19. Unknown Apongogeton, seems an Indian species, different from undulata, natans, or bolivianus.

The top count i ever had was 55 or so. None of hte many mosse i have got (Flame, Xmas, Erect) did well in this water. But crypts make it.

Awesome Romi ji, you must be having a carpet of crypt parva by now?
Happy to find another hardcore fan of crypts. May be we can exchange a few. Keep me posted if so.

Thanks Sai. Believe me, in 4 years, the parva made one baby only. And even that one baby disappeared when i got very busy and stopped noticing... the reason i have crypts is that they are amazing survivors and my boring water is awful for plants. Rajiv often asked me for one parva and i told him to wait. Then he got a parva, and i think made several 'parvas', ha ha, and mine just remained like it was. :roll Will be glad to exchange as and when i have some extra.

@Maaz

thanks. I am waiting for a C02 system and LED lights now, then i hope i will have them propagate themselves. So far they are just in 'waiting' mode, like me ;)
