Suggestions and discussion to improve the scape

Unread post by stephndsz »

this is my current set up been like this for like 5-6 months now

Image

i wanted to change some things, for eg, get rid of all the hygrophila from the centre and only have cabomba in the center for background plant.

also the wood would stay in place and i was wondering what i could do with the dwarf Sagittaria in the front. should i let it be there or plant it to all four sides?

planning for a look like this is, but not the blackwater.. (this is by George Farmer.)

advice?

In place of big leaf plants, please use small leaf plants such as Rotala rotundofolia etc.

Yes, good work indeed. Plants look healthy and growing nice.
Instead of removing hygrophila all together, why not keep a few longer ones as they are and also bring cabomba to middle in front and along them, hence making it a thicker and triangular scape like Farmer's.
Your Sagittaria in front are making carpet base. Just trim or remove the longer ones at sides to make it slope to ends but Small leaf plants would definately make it look even a better carpet.

Nice but pebbles are too big for a planted tank.
