if you are gonna use ply then go for marine ply as Saikumar pointed out
Otherwise use atleast 1" hardwood board for long lasting durability imho.
0.5" plywood can hold the weight but question is for how long before it bends. There are ways to strengthen the boards by adding support beneath it and clamping the joints by metal hinges but all that will only add to the costs, so....
You will also have to varnish and epoxy paint the plyboards, so add that cost too....

Keep in mind though to weigh all the pros and cons if you're going for a permanent structure as there will be no room for error later.
So design will have to be near perfect to prevent a lot of heart ache

Cover ply with a polythene cover for better life of ply.

will do concrete slab
True but wood is more customizable as far as DIY goes, a concrete structure would be more or less permanent.
....also add the cost of hiring a labor and mason
I am really confused..
I dont mind a permanent structure but...
Plywood 1" width cost -65/sq ft
but concrete with labour - 50-55/sq ft
if 0.5" plywood can hold it would have been better as cost is 45/sqft
I need ideas..
:cnf
If you re going to stay in this home for long time, concrete structure ll help. But again you ll lose some flexibility. But if you plan inlets n ouets well... Should be as good as any

I suggest modular iron structure, which will be long lasting and give you the flexibility of changing the layout in future (if needed).
