Hi All,
Seems to be some problem with my betta. Doing WC regularly (once in 2 days) still facing this problem.
Treated him with Bactonil and rock salt. I'm worried about the red marks on his tail.

Experts please help.
Thanks,
Nandan

Re: My betta needs help
is the red mark or injury.
If its injury, then make sure its isolated, not getting stress.
You can treat him Aquadena, orange color cap bottle. Its pretty effective.
Most importantly keep tank clean and do WC as you are doing

Re: My betta needs help
looks more like fin rot
usually fin rot is a result of stress among bettas it could be a lot of things
bad water quality
too much current
wrong water parameters
salt is a very bad thing to add when a betta is going thru fin rot.
why are u doing water changes every two days??, may be that is stressing it out, or it could be very hard water.
by the way, a good idea is to add some almond leaves to the tank and please do a water change to remove the salt content.
its usually better to just keep a small bubble filter to keep the water in good condition
BTW are you sriram

Red mark is not an injury or wound. This is the first time i'm witnessing such a mark on him. Some say its a result of fin rot.

I guess the rot is because of the water quality.
Did a water change now.
WC every two days to maintain a water quality .
Thanks,
Nandan

Re: My betta needs help
when u do more than often water changes, u are not letting the fish to get used to the parameters of the water and hence i said that u are stressing the fish due to them
its better to use a larger container and do once a week water changes
if u have a bigger tank then once in two weeks is much better

Also make sure that when you do WC, the water is atleast in the same area as tank for 4-5 hr so that temp is same or release water slowly, dont just drop in 1 go.
Yes dont overfeed too, as left over food is source of infections tooo
