Ph with 7.5-8.1 is really great for rift valley cichlids.

@abhi,
told ya when we were setting this tank 3D background will give a different view to the whole setup. If we do not make the side walls the cost should be a lot lower as we reduce around 4-5Sq ft overall
Marine Live rock is completely safe to use in Freshwater. May probably function in a similar manner. The whole Concept of Bio Rings, Etc were an outcome of the filteration system across these. Tiny pores help grow benificial bacteria and live rock will provide a very large surface area for the same. However what one needs to keep in mind is the Aragonite and Calcium base of these rocks, so unless you want a higher pH at around the 7+ range, you should not use these. I think these are great for "most" cichlid tanks.
