Do they feed from the surface also, like Ramirezis?

Not until now, today was the first time saw in mid water.

Not till now, they are busy hunting on the ground and when i drop worms and pellets they eat it mid way.

Yep, rather the smallest one is not eating worms, is busy hunting for food on ground.
