holding the substrate in hill scape....
greetings of the day
i am planning for a hill scape for my new tank, the tank is 24X12X15(h)
the question i have here
i will be using substrate and white sand or something else in contrast.... soo
how will i hold the sand from not falling on the white sand ??
on some videos i have seen they use substrate supports, it a sheet dont know of what material but here we dont have any such option....
the thing i thought of was of was using glass as an option or acrylic sheet, but than thought can use something light and neat
any suggestions ??
Thanks

Which substrate you are using in this tank? White sand will be stay at his own place, if there will small no substrate shifting fish/invertebrate in your tank. You have also keep an eye on direction of filter flow.

Re: holding the substrate in hill scape....
Depend on the slope you want to achieve. I doubt you can achieve a high slope with rooted plants, I guess you may may do it will rocks and substrate pocket. Substrate pocket will be filled with rooted plants and rocks need to be filled with riccia or moss. So you may get a mixing and highlighted ground.
Specifically if you want to achieve hill scape, you will get automatically get pockets. Still details scaping idea may help.
