Re: My experiance with discus
This is the most beautiful fish but its very costly.
Amazing to watch but very high maintenance but do love them.
Water Quality and temperature care needs to be taken .
Will add one pair in my layout once it is matured and where I don't need to bother to keep the tank temperature down

Re: My experiance with discus
thanks for responding
will continue this thread with more details
if water parameters and temperature are favorable raring discus is
not a herculean task
A hobbyist can do it at home. if he have time to spare and having support from family
he can make money with pleasure
self financed hobby (NOT POCKET DRAINING)
Regards,
NEIL

Re: My experiance with discus
Many times heard from discus keepers that tetra bits isn't good for discus. Also a regime should be followed while feeding discus.neilthirumuttam wrote:They grow like this if cared properly

Re: My experiance with discus
pellet food is less used by professionals
two times heavy food BHM full water change after half an hour feeding is done in commercial raising
beef-heart based food as their primary source of food.
Frozen artimia is also good for discus
The preparation of BHM
======================
there are several combinations
example :
Paul Burney's Beefheart Recipe
Richard D.'s Beefheart Recipe
Gabe Posada's Beefheart Recipe
Rick May's Beefheart Recipe
etc........ in each Recipe ingredients are some what same some minor difference
This one is good for discus rising: read this link
http://www.archersdiscus.com/page_30.html
feeding and water change is the key of discus rising/breeding
1 inch in one month is the targeted GROWTH RATE IN in discus
