Well Kverma honestly I would prefer if you can stretch your budget and go for alteast the sera and boyu thermostat.

Why not the 200-250 rs one, yesterday one of my friend has brought one chinese make at that price put it in his tank and set it at 26, when he came back home the temp increased to 35!!! and all of his beautiful neons died :(

So I would suggest go for a good brand :)

RS Electrical.. Check it has big time calibration issue as far as I know..
People set it up at 28 and it raised the temperature to 34!!!

So check it prior.

My Atman heater lasted 7 years. :adore

I suspect it would have worked even longer, but i broke it accidentally. I have the internal fittings and hope to resurrect it when i get a long enough glass tube!

Some companies do not get the marketing they deserve..

apuda2010 wrote:Are you discussing the Hydor inline heaters ? Beware !!! I had two lovely 4 inch discus die on me because the heater thermostat stopped functioning.

Its a lovely concept - takes the ugly heater away from the tank and keep the water temp rock solid. But after this incident , I have become paranoid and ordered a Ranco thermostat for myself off eBay.com. Once again , my tank temps are rock solid - does not move by even one decimal point during the day.
How much did this rAnco thermostat cost you, joyash ? Can you also share the link of the page of seller that you ordered it from?

Thanks.

@Romi...A Ranco will set you back by around $70. There are many sellers on eBay. There are two variants of the product - one with only one controller , the other with two controllers - one to control the heater and another to control the chiller (as an example).

When it comes to heaters, I strongly recommend Eheims or Rena. The loss of precious fauna is simply not worth it. I built my own PC , and I can tell you that the two things I never compromise on are a paid and fully supported version of the OS and top quality hard disks. A heater in a tank is an important component, and compromising on quality is very risky.
