suggestions for a water pump

Unread post by slowpoison »

Due to high iron content in my locality, I have to store water separately. Approximately 120l - 140l of water is stored for each wc for my 75g. Considering carrying buckets of water to fill the tank every week is not so much fun, I was thinking if anybody could suggest a water pump that could do the task for me. The pumps that are usually available is the 0.8- 1bhp pumps that pumps water upto 3/4 storeys, those may not work. I was thinking if anybody could suggest something less powerful and available, like reef octopus pumps[but those again will not be cost efficient.]

I mean Desert coolar pump. How much distance and height you want to flow the water from storage vessel to aquarium? Desert coolar pumps easily lifts water upto 5-6 feet and cost is around 200-300 Rs.

4-5 ft high and about 6-7 feet in distance.

Also what is the cooling thing in it? I have always seen this gadget around in shops, but never knew what it was or what it does.

Spoke with a few sellers on ebay. Looks like the mentioned distance and height is on the borderline. Are there any alternatives?

None come with warranty and price is very high. Kindly post details of where you purchased your pumps.
