Hi my tank size is 39*15*24 inches and my current lighting is 2 3feet flora and 4 36w pll.
But I m not satisfied with the o/p of this light. So planning to go for 4 T5Ho 54W.
On net some where I read that 4000k will be good for red plant.. Is that true?
Why 8000k is used?
Does 4000k promotes more alge problem?
PLs let me know which light I should use in 4 tubes of T5 HO
1) Two 6500k + one 4000k +one 8000k?
2) Three 6500k +1 4000k?
3) Three 6500k +1 8000k?
4) all 4 6500k tubes
Regards
Rajesh

I would go with first option to cover more spectrum range.

Rajesh Ji, please mention the name of plants, you want to grow in this tank. Light depends on the basis of plants and tank height.

I think 6500k is more than enough to grow any plants. 8000k is mostly used in marine and 4000k will make your tank look yellowish. I have been using 6500k t5ho tubes in my tank and results are great.
You red plants are turning green because you have no iron in your tank, start dosing iron and it will retain its colour.
You can see my tank with 6*55w t5ho 6500k. My red plants are doing great under this light with the supplement of iron.
