Oh sub, then what is your purpose to make this sump green.I was thinking that you want to keep water parameters in check naturally for your main cichlid tank .

purpose is to make my sump green ,now i m using co2 n fert thats y not passing main tank water but after i get desire growth n look of plant will switch to lowtech n thn main tank water will pass through planted section also. this is my plan

yaa when i told my LFS guy i want to make sump for filtration he told me sump is waste of a tank space use canister filter, here if say ur using sump for freshwater tank most of LFS guy will laugh on u,now that guy is showing my sump pics to other customer n recommend sump for freshwater tank also.

some plant which i have
Hygrophila polysperma 'Rosanervig'
beautiful plant, less demanding ,gr8 for any low to medium tech tank at high light leaves will turn nice pink color.
