price printed on the packet is not a measure rod of quality /content
Y discus food are costly ?
market/demand theory ........
less hobbyists there
discus is not a hard nut to crack
but hobbyists still away

Neil, I think one of the reasons why hobbyists stay away is because the sellers do not provide adequate information on this species during the purchase. Similar to selling Alligator Gars, Oscars, Arowanas etc. I stopped keeping discus long back. I felt that since I do not have a large enough tank to keep seven or eight of them, and watch them grow, there is absolutely no point in torturing these magnificent creatures in 2 feet tanks.
