BTW from my point of viw to all betta keepers --plzz do not change water 100% it will disturb their settlement ...or pH balance will break up...

just siphon out the droppings if it is in bare tank ..with airline pipe so tht little amount of water gets out and replace it with fresh water along with 1 /1/2 teaspoonfull of rock salt ...IAL is always good for bettas ..can use IAL every 15 days...and bettas which r not kept in bare tank ...run a sponge filter with very very mild bubble ..keep it in mind they don't like water movements..and clean the filter every 7 days along with a water change of 20-30 %...

regarding care abt my bettas ..sharing my views ..any suggestions or query most welcome ...

before placing a betta always wash ur tanks with handful of loose salt and rinse well so no salt remains..then u need to chk the quality of the water here in calcutta where i stay i get good water from the local bodies and i chkd ph -7-8 after adding thw water add some rock salt or loose salt and store the water open for 24 hrs then add ial and a small plant ... the bettas love plants...then add the betta ...i feed my bettas live tubifex worm /mosquito larvae /tetra bits..always feed them a pinch not over feed any left over food must be clean up after 6/8 hrs of feeding after 7 days .... do not change water 100% it will disturb their settlement ...or pH balance will break up...just siphon out the droppings if it is in bare tank ..with airline pipe so tht little amount of water gets out and replace it with fresh water along with 1 /1/2 teaspoonfull of rock salt ...IAL is always good for bettas ..can use IAL every 15 days...and bettas which r not kept in bare tank ...run a sponge filter with very very mild bubble ..keep it in mind they don't like water movements..and clean the filter every 7 days along with a water change of 20-30 %... sometimes bettas will not eat //some times they won't move ...my suggestions not to disturb them ..when they r not eating don't give them any food stop them 2days feeding change water 10-20% add some salt ..then the see the result ..also u will find fin rot ..it's very common just try out the above steps it will recover soon...
