so..errm..catching up on stuff. Started this and totally forgot about it. So any decisions been made or not? Decide upon a fish or invert soon cause I have my semesters coming up soon and I will get busy with them.

Guys..being a GD myself, I seriously feel the need for improving on existing design.
The present 2d fish(I believe denisoni) is too immature to be very honest. In times when when we see some ever exiting designs around the web, its too incompetent to stick to something very primitive, especially when we are organizing big events and int'l scaping contests.

I really commend Noufil's proposition to do it, please appreciate his efforts, avail his offer and help him understand how we want our brand image to be. Think about what values we would like to convey especially to the hobbyists, go a lil corporate here.

Lets just start a poll on this with some native fish/inverts and see whats the common choice/choices for all. And it need not be limited just one mascot(like in example shown below).

And if not a mascot, it can be some genuinely good custom symbol+text logo design, that is simple yet recognizable as well and good for print on variable sizes.

@Naufil..For your part, the current vector graphic style(something in lines of SOSfactory am talking about and simpler versions of it) is nice, punchy and modern. You can as-well resort to 2d styles like some retro illustration with a modern simplistic touch(web 2.0) to make it classic for years to come.
