Funny things said by family about the hobby.

Thought I'll start a thread to discuss how our family perceives our hobby. Let's have a fun thread. Can't recall any experience as of now, I will add as and when I remember.

I faced the issue many times. In starting days, I did not get any support from my family. My father denied to keep fishes in a Brahmin family. But later, I convinced my family to keep fishes.

Once a lady from my family visited from village and asked me they are real fishes or plastic. All of we laughed and can not ever forget.

Some of my relatives who visited our place, saw my tank racks and asked if I'm opening a "fish shop". Some others asked if they can be eaten

I never had any issues in family, my father was in veterinary department who helped me initially and my mom helps me with weekly maintenance and daily co2 and light management when I am in ofc...
My wife also likes the hobby especially the colorful fishies. ..
Earlier she used to complain I spent lots of time in my fish room than wuth her... then I satrted engaging her with hobby and now no issues...

I and my family love this hobby, but a regular complain comes from my wife that I am spending more time with the tank than her, If I am not wrong most of us who is married has the same complain. Once I was very agitated and posted the aquarium for sale on OLX, Unfortunately that very day I left my Mobile at home and went to Office, at noon my son called me on my desk number and said that his mom is abusing every one who is calling me. Later I understood she was abusing the calls came from the customers of OLX. I had to cook my dinner that day as she and my son had a Chinese Dinner in a restaurant.

My wife named my Arwana Fish Ambani as it is big in size.

My Mom used to say should we leave home, stay with your fishes only . Best one is whenever my Discus, tetras, guppies and cichlid breed everyone says you have opened a maternity hospital at home.
