I want to set up a small Marine Tank for the 1st time. Dont have any past expereince...... this would be the 1st one for me.....
Can some one guide please including what should be kept in......

What type of tank you want to keep fish only or reef tank?

I will recommend that you go for fish only tank in starting. After experience, you can keep corals/invertebrates. Read...Read and Read... Reading is the only key for success.

1. Tank Size

hey Amit
heartily welcome you to the desire of keeping marine tank

please answer few questions
1) what is the tank size you are planning ?
2) what is the filteration that you are planning ?
3) is there space for a small sump ?
4) any idea about skimmer / lights ?
5) what is the setup that you have in your mind ?
6) what is you budget thats the most important in marine

?

marine is ongoing process and bit expensive then freshwater, but everything comes with a cost. not to fear marine is not a rocket science if you get your basics right, and have patience with right equipment, regularly water change and care for your aquarium it flourishes. but its all about decisions.
i would suggest to read through articles available.

You must decide on tank size etc before setup..

Nano you can go for an 18inch cube but marine nanos are not easy. Go for a larger tank
