Hi All,

Recently I have purchased 8 melanotaenia boesemani or Bosemani rainbows for my four feeter planted tank. I'll like to know what is the ideal food for them to bring out that orange color near tail. In net varied diet are suggested along with live food as these fishes are omnivorus.

Please let me know your hands on experience with these fishes. As of now I am feeding them Hikari Cichlid excell & H?ikari discus bio gold.

Even giving them variety in the dry food is better than giving the same thing. a dry food from Hikari and another dry food from Tetra? :) Both floating if possible, or one at least.

Of course, ideally you should give them mealworms twice a week, preferably live. You can buy these mealworms in dried form also. I have seen Boesmani dash happily to eat mealworms because mealworms float and are among the richest source of protein, but only twice a week. As advised in this thread, they love bloodworms as a daily dose.

You can offer them any quality food which sinks slowly.
