I would not recommend vals for this 10G setup, they will out grow in no time. Go for some crypts, some elocharis, pigmy sword, rotala green,moss,potamogeton gayii,dwarf sag etc these won't cost you a fortune but then again will give you a nice option to scape as well..

2Kg of solrite is more than you need .... but you need more of laterite ... one kg will not be enough

You need atleast 4-5 kg latarite and a 2kg pack of soilrite. They should be in 60:40 ratio.
